Your personal time clock on iPhone, soon on Android

Clock in without a time clock, for yourself. You arrive, you leave, your hours are recorded.

Add the workplaces you choose: Orarium detects your arrivals and departures and builds your own timesheet. You do not need to join a company to use it.

Orarium is free. You need an Orarium account for the app and the website: you create it with your email address, with no payment details.

Illustration, sample data. Demonstration: the route crosses the office zone without being recorded. Only the times at which the edge of the zone is crossed are: arrival at 08:12, departure at 12:05, return at 13:02, departure at 16:54. The Today screen shows 7h45 of work in two sessions.
  • iPhone (iOS 17 or later): in testing on TestFlight, App Store coming soon
  • Android (8 or later): soon on Google Play
  • Your personal places are never shared with a company
  • A company sees hours only after you agree to share them
  • Your hours can be corrected in the app or on the web
  • No route or continuous location history is recorded

How it works

A working day, without clocking in.

You set up your places and permissions once. From then on, Orarium clocks in and out for you, in the background, without you having to open the app.

Just once

  1. Add your places

In the app, drop each workplace on the map and set its radius, from 100 to 500 m.

  2. Set location access to “Always”

Keep precise location turned on as well. Without these settings, the phone reports neither arrivals nor departures.

  3. Allow notifications

So that every arrival and every departure detected is confirmed.

Every day

  1. You: You enter the office zone.

    Orarium:

    Orariumnow

  2. You: You go out for lunch.

    Orarium:

  3. You: You come back.

  4. You: You head home.

Throughout the week

From the lock screen to your weekly timesheet.

During the day, your current session shows on the lock screen. Every Monday, an email sums up the past week. On the website, you adjust your hours, and every change remains available.

  • On the lock screen

    iPhone

An indicator shows the place, the arrival time and the counter of the current session, in the Dynamic Island too. It appears when the app is open, or with a gesture from the arrival notification, and ends by itself when you leave.

  • Every Monday, your recap

    Email

An email sums up the past week: the total, the details by day and by place, and the difference from the previous week. A button takes you to the week's timesheet. You can turn it off in your account.

  • A timesheet you can correct

    Web

On the website, edit a session, add one or delete one. Each save creates a new version, with a comment if you wish; earlier versions remain available.

The essentials before you start

Privacy

Orarium does not track where you go.

Only entering and leaving your workplaces counts, and it is your phone's system that detects them. Here is exactly what is recorded, and where.

Recorded in your account

  • Your places: the name you give them, the point chosen on the map and the radius.
  • Your arrivals and departures: the place, the date and the time, and how each was recorded, detected or entered by hand.
  • The weekly timesheets you edit on the website: every version, with any comment.
  • Your account's email address.

Never recorded

  • Your route, your stops, your speed.
  • Your location throughout the day, at your places or anywhere else.
  • Your location when you open the map in the app: only the point of the place you drop is kept.
  • No ads or selling of data. Public visits are measured only with your consent.

Where it is processed

  • On your phone

Your phone's system monitors the edge of your zones and tells Orarium when you cross it, even when the app is not open. The app's diagnostic log contains no coordinates.

  • In Switzerland

Your account, your places and your clock-ins are hosted in Switzerland and operated by ILYGO Sàrl. They are sent there over an encrypted connection. An encrypted backup of them is kept every day in the European Union.

  • At Apple and Google

Apple distributes the iPhone app (TestFlight today, the App Store later) and shows the map of places with Apple Maps. On Android, detection goes through Google Play location services, and the app will be distributed through Google Play. These services are covered by Apple's and Google's privacy policies.

You stay in control

  • Revocable permission: remove location access in your phone's settings whenever you like. Automatic detection then stops.

  • Correctable hours: start, stop, add, edit or delete a session in the app, or adjust the week on the website.

  • Deletable account: from the app or on the website, your profile, places, clock-ins and timesheets are removed from Orarium's database. To erase the data on the phone too, delete the app.

For companies

Orarium Pro: attendance hours shared, with everyone's consent.

Orarium is each person's own time clock first. Only when someone accepts a company invitation does Orarium Pro share their hours in that company's zones. The company cannot turn on sharing for them.

  1. The manager sets up the zones

On the Orarium Pro platform, they drop each company zone on the map and set its radius.

  2. They invite staff by email

The invitation says who is inviting, for which company, and what will be shared.

  3. Everyone accepts, or not

Without acceptance, nothing is shared. Anyone can leave at any time from their account: sharing stops immediately.

  4. Each week, everyone submits their hours

Staff check their week on the website, then submit it: the manager sees it as validated. Any correction made after submission is flagged to them.

Orarium Pro licence

CHF 3per licence per month

or CHF 30 per licence per year

VAT included

One licence per invited person, paid by the company. Staff pay nothing.

Shared with the manager

  • Attendance hours in the company's zones: arrivals, departures and totals.
  • The weeks the staff member submits, limited to those zones.
  • Only after the invitation is accepted, and until the person leaves or is removed.

Never shared

  • The person's other places and time spent elsewhere.
  • Their routes and movements, which Orarium never records anyway.
  • Nothing from before acceptance, nothing after leaving.

Worth knowing

  • Hours are accurate to within a few minutes, not to the second.
  • After an update, open the app once. After a restart, unlock the phone.
  • Battery saver mode can delay a detection.
  • Recommended radius: 150 to 300 m, more outside built-up areas.
  • Your hours are sent to the website automatically, right after each clock-in, on iPhone and Android alike, and also when you open the app on iPhone.
  • New phone, reinstalled app or switching from iPhone to Android: log in with the same account and your places, their radius and your history come back to the app.
  • A session corrected or deleted in the app is updated on the website too, and a place deleted on the website disappears from the app at its next sync. If you had already adjusted the week on the website, your version is kept and the timesheet flags the change.
  • The export contains all your sessions: choosing a period is not available yet.

What Orarium does not do

  • No app for Apple Watch or Mac.
  • No approval workflow: with Orarium Pro, staff submit their week and the manager views it.
  • No management of holidays, balances or overtime.
  • Places cannot be created on the website: they are set in the app.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Why the “Always” location permission?

Without it, the phone cannot tell Orarium about your arrivals and departures when the app is not open. It is only used to monitor your zones. You can remove it at any time in your phone's settings: Orarium then no longer counts your hours automatically.

What if an arrival or departure is not detected?

Add or correct the session by hand in the app, with the place, the arrival time and the departure time, or adjust the weekly timesheet on the website. Optional reminders can also flag a forgotten departure or a day that has not started.

Can I correct my hours on the website?

Yes. The weekly timesheet can be edited session by session: change a time, add a session, delete one. Each save creates a new version, with a comment if you wish, and earlier versions remain available. Places, however, are created in the app.

What is in the Monday recap?

Every Monday morning, if you worked the previous week, an email sums up that week: the total, the details by day and by place, and a comparison with the week before. A button takes you to the week's timesheet to check and adjust your hours. The email contains no location data, only the names of your places. You can turn it off in your account, or with one click from the email.

What does the iPhone lock screen show?

During a session, an indicator shows the place, the arrival time and the session counter, on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island. It appears when the app is open, or with a gesture from the arrival notification, and ends by itself when you leave the place.

Is Orarium available on Android?

The Android app is ready and will soon be on Google Play, for Android 8 or later. It works like the iPhone app, with the same account: when you switch from one to the other, your places, their radius and your history come with you. In the meantime, the iPhone app records your hours, and the website lets you view, correct and export them.

Is Orarium free?

Yes. The app and the website are free, with no subscription, no in-app purchases and no ads. Only Orarium Pro, the platform for companies, is paid: one licence per invited person, at CHF 3 per month or CHF 30 per year (VAT included). The company pays; its staff pay nothing.

Can my employer see my hours?

Not without your consent. A company that uses Orarium Pro can invite you to share your attendance hours in its zones. Until you have accepted the invitation, nothing is shared. After that, only those hours are shared, together with the weeks you submit, never your other places or your movements, and you can leave at any time from your account. Without Orarium Pro, you choose what you pass on, for example a CSV export.

Does Orarium count as an official time record?

Orarium is there to help you know your hours. It does not present itself as an official working time recording system, Orarium Pro included. For your obligations, check with your employer.

Which languages are available?

The website is in French, German and English: choose the language at the top of the page or in the footer. The app is also in French, German and English. Emails from Orarium are sent in your account's language.

How do I join the test?

The iPhone app is being tested on TestFlight, Apple's app for test versions. Create your account, then write to info@ilygo.ch to receive the invitation.

Another question? Write to info@ilygo.ch.

Get started in three steps.

  1. Create your Orarium account with your email address.

  2. Install the iPhone app, in testing on TestFlight: write to info@ilygo.ch to receive the invitation. The Android app is coming soon to Google Play.

  3. Add your first place and set location access to “Always”.
